Roosting News

11/25/04 - Male was in the box today. He was quiet and nothing much to report during this visit.

12/16/04 - The male visited again today and we're looking forward to this spring.

01/02/05 - Heard the female doing a descending trill tonight. It was the same owl as prior years (Scarlett) We have digital voice prints of the nesting
                  pair and can i.d. them by sound. She was in the tree next to the left owl box. We did not hear the male respond.

01/13/05 - As you can probably see we were visited by a single flying squirrel around 3:30am today. He doesn't stay long though and we haven't seen his buddies for a long time. During the fall there were nights where 5-7 of them were playing rough house in the box. Fun to watch!

02/05/05 - The male owl visited tonight around 10:30pm. He spent half an hour in the entrance hole calling with a loud monotonic trill. It ocassionally got soft and we could hear the female answering in the background but she did not enter the box. Things are looking up though!
